nc_greatgrapesUncork the Fun is the name of a half-dozen wine tastings in Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. The only one left for Road Trips Foodies to enjoy in 2009 takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. October 3 in Symphony Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. (You’ll have to wait ’til 2010 to check out the versions held in Cockeysville and Annapolis, Maryland; Reston, Virginia, and Cary, North Carolina.) Designated drivers pay $10 per ticket, but those of us who want to imbibe need to cough up $18 (tickets are available online). uncorkthefunSeventeen wineries (many based in North Carolina) will be offering tastings. Entertainment, shopping and (of course) cooking demonstrations are planned. (Mark your program to check out Southwest Egg Rolls, billed as a quick & easy appetizer!) By the way, Traci O’Very Covey of Salt Lake City designed the eye-catching graphic (right).
