Belfast Beer and Cider Festival

Submitted by on November 5, 2010 – 12:15 amNo Comment

The biggest bar in Ireland will be in business just three days this month. Yes, Road Trips Foodies, the Belfast Beer and Cider Festival returns for a November 18 through 20, 2010, run in Ulster Hall, Bedford Street, Belfast, Ireland.

Sure, there’ll be more than 100 beers and ciders available in a range of styles, but also traditional pub games, live music and (of course) real beer. They expect to have a selection of 80 different beers available at the start of each day, from Atlas to Wylam. Plus, ciders from Biddenden, Moles, Thatchers and Westons (who could resist a cider labeled Bounds Brand Scrumpy?).

On November 18 and 19, it all starts at noon; on November 20, doors open at 11 a.m. Prices vary by time of day. Arrive before 5 p.m. on November 18 or 20, and before 4 p.m. on November 19, and it costs just £3. After those times, £6. Tickets will only be available at the door.

Remember liquor laws are different across the pond. Drinking age is 18 (not 21, as it is in the States). ID’s will be checked for all those customers who do not look over-21.

The festival is sponsored by The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), the largest single-issue consumer group in the United Kingdom, with over 110,000 members across the UK, including those in Northern Ireland.
