HAV-A-BBQ

The second annual HAV-A-BBQ is set for February 25 and 26, 2011, at Havasu State Park, Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The largest barbecue championship in Arizona sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, HAV-A-BBQ is open to barbecue teams from across the United States.

This year, organizers expect nearly 100 teams vying for $14,000 in prize money. Foods tasted by 150 certified judges will include chicken, ribs, pork shoulder/butt and brisket, plus side categories of salsa, chili, “Anything Butt” and desserts.

Lake Havasu City, 2-1/4 hours by road south of Las Vegas, Nevada, is about three hours’ driving time from Phoenix, Arizona. For more information on visiting, go online.
