A Few Days of Wine and Tango

Submitted by on February 3, 2011 – 2:56 pmOne Comment

Culinary tourism is a trend with legs (or wings?). In any case, several tour companies are offering specialized trips for Road Trips Foodies.

“A Few Days of Wine and Tango” from My Exclusive Journeys features six nights in Argentina.

Begin in Buenos Aires, the city known as the Paris of South America. After a massage to unwind, stroll through the neighborhoods of San Telmo, La Boca (where the tango was born), Recoleta and Palermo. Try a wine tasting and dinner at one of the city’s famed restaurants like La Cava del Querandi and take in a fabulous Tango Show. You’ll have time to take a tango lesson or a cooking lesson.

On the fourth day, fly to Mendoza for three nights where wine is a way of life and where you may visit local wineries in the surrounding valleys. You won’t want to miss the culinary scene in Mendoza’s many famous restaurants. You can stay in a mansion in the city, or head out to the countryside, ideal for outdoor activities or just relaxing.

Tours may be arranged year round, and rates (without airfare, of course) start at $1,137.
