Get ready to sizzle this summer, Road Trips Foodies, at the 18th annual Salsa Festival in Oxnard, California.

The festival features spicy food and fiery entertainment that draws nearly 50,000 salsa lovers. There’s entertainment with salsa and Latin bands, a large salsa tasting tent, a marketplace, international foods, kids’ “korner”, salsa recipe contest and more.

Inside the Salsa Tasting Tent, Road Trips Foodies, local restaurants, Mexican markets and gourmet salsa vendors serve a variety of salsa flavors — fresh & fruity, hot & smoky, and sweet & spicy creating fun and interesting combinations. Entry to the Salsa Tasting Tent is $5 for ten tastes — chips included.

The Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. both July 30 and 31, 2011, at Plaza Park, Fifth and “B” Streets in downtown Oxnard. No surprise: it’s sponsored by the Oxnard Downtowners.

Oxnard is 60 miles north of Los Angeles and 30 miles south of Santa Barbara. For more information on visiting the city, go online.
