Heading across the pond, Road Trips Foodies? Consider a stop at the Marlow Food Festival. It’ll take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. September 23, 2012, at the MacDonald Compleat Angler Hotel, Marlow Bridge, Marlow, Buckinghamshire, England, United Kingdom.

Chefs from some of the county’s top restaurants will be demonstrating their skills, while food suppliers and restaurants will have stalls where visitors can sample their produce or cooking.

The cookery demonstrations start at noon when 18 year old Luke Thomas, Britain’s youngest head chef from the Sanctum on the Green, takes the stage. He will be followed at 1 p.m. by Clive Dixon, chef patron from the White Oak in Cookham. Giancarlo and Katie Caldesi, who own and run an Italian cookery school and two restaurants, will take over at 2 p.m. demonstrating Mediterranean style dishes, while the Compleat Angler’s new head chef, Neal Dove takes the final session of the day at 3 p.m.

The Oxford Cheese Company, The Irish Cake Collection and The Garlic Farm are just a few of the names who’ll be displaying and sharing their products. Others include Anila’s Authentic Sauces Limited, Jamie at Home Cookware, No2 Pound Street and the team from Alfred the Grape, wine merchants extraordinaire.

There’s even something for book worms – chef, author and former journalist Alex Watts will be signing copies of his book Down and About in Padstow and London, a humorous account of the years he spent training as a chef, including stints at Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck and Rick Stein’s kitchens in Cornwall.
