northcarolina_wilmington_tasteWhether you’d like to sample the best of Wilmington’s downtown restaurants or indulge in a tasting of wine and beer — September’s the month to head to North Carolina.

Culinary arts take center stage beginning at 6 p.m. September 17, 2013, for “A Taste of the Town,” a downtown restaurant walk with proceeds benefiting Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts.

The event starts at Thalian Hall, 310 Chestnut Street (map), where guests will receive maps and have the option of walking or riding a free trolley to 15 participating restaurants to sample appetizers and the ambiance. Tickets are $40.

The biannual Wilmington Wine & Beer Walk returns September 28, 2013, with spirited tastings of wine and beer at downtown venues from 1 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 each, or two for $25.
