Cuddle Baby Goats at Redwood Hill Farm

Submitted by on April 22, 2017 – 8:14 amNo Comment

Redwoodhill Farm, CaliforniaIf you’re looking for a chance to cuddle baby goats, or learn how to milk a goat, or experience sustainable farming first-hand (without all the work) sign up for a Spring Farm Tour at Redwood Hill Farm, 5480 Thomas Road, Sebastopol, California. Yep: it’s a goat dairy farm in western Sonoma County producing milk, yogurt, kefir and cheese.

In the past, farm tours were only available on a few weekends each spring. The schedule has been expanded for 2017, with farm tours offered on Saturdays from April to early June. This year the tours also feature a smaller, individually led format that provides a more intimate look at the farm.

In addition to more than 300 goats, this Certified Humane farm also has chickens, beehives, olive and fruit orchards, and more. Sustainable farming practices include a tracking solar array, rainwater catchment tanks, and the pioneering use of tagasaste, an innovative goat fodder crop.

The Spring Farm Tours start at 11 a.m. and last about 90 minutes. The cost is $20 for adults, $10 for children, and free for children under 5; advance reservations required.
