The Return of the Scallops to Normandy

Scallop Festival in Normandy, FranceLe Goût du Large (“a taste for the open sea”) Festival takes place November 11 and 12, 2017, in Port-en-Bessin, Normandy, France.

It’s a celebration of the return of the scallop to this fishing village. It’s in the middle of the famous D-Day Beaches shore about 20 minutes from Bayeux.

Highlights of the festival include tastings, sea shanties and plenty of scallop dishes on offer at local restaurants. The fish market, normally open just to wholesale buyers, is open to the public during this event.
