Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival, Port Angeles, WashingtonAccording to the organizers of the annual Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival, more than eight tons of fresh-caught Dungeness crab were served at last year event.

The festival, which celebrates the aquaculture, agriculture and maritime traditions of Washington state’s Olympic Peninsula, will try to outdo that total during this year’s 17th annual event, set for October 5, 6, and 7, 2018, at the Port Angeles City Pier.

Whole crab dinners will be served in the 12,000-square-foot Crab Central tent along with fresh corn and cole slaw. Throughout the grounds, 14 local and regional restaurants will serve-up everything from crab bisque to seafood gumbo (non-seafood and vegetarian dishes will also be available).

Look for two live music stages, two live oyster bars, local beer and wine, a Chef Demonstration Stage featuring local and regional culinary talent, and the Grab-a-Crab Crab Derby. The Captain Joseph House Foundation Chowder Cook-Off is set for October 7.
