President Benjamin Harrison Site, Indianapolis, IndianaIf you’re a history buff or know someone who would love to experience Civil War-era food while being regaled with stories of how the North won, Here’s the dinner for you.

A Civil War Dinner will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. November 6, 2019, at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, 1230 North Delaware Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Road Trips Foodies will dine with re-enactors portraying General Benjamin Harrison and his Major as they share their stories of service to the Union during the Civil War.

The evening will begin with conversation, hors d’oeuvres, and wine. After a tour of the home, an authentic Civil War -era gourmet dinner will be served, prepared by Alan’s Catered Events. Chef Alan and his team researched food during the Civil War era, and the menu reflects this deep knowledge. It features Harrison family recipes, and a dessert by the Harrison’s White House Chef, Laura ‘Dolly’ Johnson.

The actors playing General Harrison and his Aide-de-Camp, are “unstumpable” and their knowledge of the Civil War is thorough.

Just 30 spots(at $89.95 each) are available; contact the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site for details.
