Traveling through northeast Georgia just before Christmas, Road Trips Gardeners? Consider stopping at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, 2450 South Milledge Avenue., Athens, Georgia.

From 9 a.m. ’til noon December 20, 2011, Jeannette Coplin, Director of Horticulture and Grounds, will conduct a holiday workshop.

You’ll need to plan ahead because you’ll need to bring a container and pruning shears. Cost is $27, but you’ll use greenery harvested at the garden to construct your own holiday centerpiece.

If you’re on the way to Grandma’s house — what a great gift!
