iowa_decorah_tomato-tastingThe ninth annual Tomato Tasting takes place August 30, 2014, at Heritage Farm, 3094 North Winn Road, Decorah, Iowa.

It’s sponsored by the Seed Savers Exchange. You can read about the 2013 event online.

Sample dozens of heirloom and open-pollinated tomatoes, including rare varieties found only in SSE’s seed bank. Learn how to save seeds from summer/fall produce and grow some of these rare tomatoes in your own garden.

Located six miles north of Decorah, Iowa, Seed Savers Exchange is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to the preservation and distribution of heirloom seeds. Seed Savers maintains a collection of thousands of open-pollinated varieties, making it one of the largest non-governmental seed banks in the United States.
