california_palosverdesestates_thanksgivingIf the timing works out right for you, Road Trips Gardener, consider taking a two-hour workshop at the South Coast Botanic Garden, 26300 Crenshaw Boulevard, Palos Verdes Peninsula, California.

Between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. November 24, 2015, you can create your own Thanksgiving floral centerpiece. The materials fee is included in the $85 cost (and, yes, advance registration is necessary).

Each student will create a long Thanksgiving design out of fresh flowers and greenery while learning how to incorporate seasonal vegetables and nuts into the design — which they can take home and use.

The instructors are Kit Wertz and/or Casey Schwartz of Flower Duet. The pair are custom wedding and event florists and floral design instructors with more than 20 years of professional experience.
