Toques et Clochers

Submitted by on February 17, 2014 – 8:42 amNo Comment

sieur-darquesOrganized over the Palm Sunday weekend by the wine growers of the Sieur d’Arques, France, “Toques et Clochers” (“chef’s hats and steeples”) is intended to promote the different soil types of the Limoux vineyard.

Each year, one village in the region is the setting for the gathering which takes place over two days: on Saturday, the festival in the streets and tasting cellars of the chosen village, then on Sunday, the best “Chardonnays” from the four different soil types of the appellation area are auctioned off to the most important chefs and wine waiters from all over the world.

A part of the money taken will allow the restoration of the steeple of the organizing village.

This year’s event is April 12 and 13, 2014.
